Essaouira has been nicknamed the ‘windy city’, and it’s partly justified.

But it’s not necessarily a bad thing, as the trade winds blowing into the bay keep temperatures down to a more reasonable mid-20s °C in summer while the rest of Morocco is sweltering in the heat.

So, if you don’t mind a light sandblasting you can still get a dose of beach time “allyearound” and play football like these youngsters.
